About the Residences
Two classic West 85th Street buildings, quietly modernized.
Amsterdam Residences occupies a pair of early-twentieth-century buildings on a leafy block of the Upper West Side, between Amsterdam Avenue and Broadway. Limestone detailing, tall bay windows, original cornice lines: the architectural character is unmistakably 1920s New York, the sort of block where the city feels residential and unhurried.
Inside, we have kept what works and quietly updated the rest. Rooms are furnished with considered, hard- wearing pieces; common spaces are designed for small gatherings and focused work. Two blocks from Central Park, three minutes from the 1 train, and walking distance from Columbia, Juilliard, Lincoln Center, and the museums: this is a neighborhood that has anchored New York for a century, now fitted to the way people live and work today.

Neighborhood guideBuilt for interns
Summer, fall, spring: housing that flexes with your program.
We built Amsterdam Residences around the way interns actually move to New York: three-month terms, simple applications, no guarantor, and a community of peers already in the building. If your program runs at a bank, studio, lab, or newsroom, your housing should just work.
